Doe Castle and Sheephaven Bay still stand, but the church inside the graveyard has vanished without a ridge, hole or memory left behind. Forgetting is the final demolisher: it removes the building, the stones and the reason anyone would look for them. The bay keeps doing what it has always done, taking what it wants and refusing to explain itself.

There is no trace of the 'Church in ruins' shown here on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch maps. It was located inside the graveyard (DG026-024003-) close to the shore of Sheephaven Bay near Doe Castle. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
