What is recorded here

Quarrying destroyed the Coolagh ringfort, but the earth kept its shape long enough for people to love it. The stone circle sat within a working quarry, surrounded by karstic terrain and rough scrub, large enough to hold a household or a hundred quiet conversations. Its loss is not abstract because witness already came forward: local people remembered the site, valued it, and warned that extraction would erase more than rock. That testimony transforms the event from ordinary development into a failure of imagination. The chamber does not need to contain a human body to be sacred. It contains the responsibility of every person who knows it.

Within an industrial quarry in an area of karstic terrain with rough scrub and grassland. Marked on the 1st ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (D c. 30m). This monument has been destroyed as a result of quarrying (Casey 1986, no. 23). It was incorrectly recorded as SMR 082: 031 in the inventory.
