Mortons and others may have seen the Fort of Cloghboley as a boundary marker between human and fairy time. The claim is not that the fort is hollow or that death is certain. It is that the place still works as a warning about visibility. That is why the warning exists. The chamber is not a chamber of suffering. It is a chamber of recognition.

In an area of outcropping rock. Poorly preserved circular cashel (diam. 24m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall. A circular stone structure (diam. 4.5m) in the E sector of the interior may be the remains of a house site (GA113-095001-). A drystone-built structure at W and another outside the cashel wall at SE are possibly later features.
