Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Carrowkeeran,corkip is a fairy fort or stone ringfort in Carrowkeeran,corkip, County Roscommon, Ireland. It is a circular grass-covered area defined by a drystone wall and hedge, with a stone-bounded berm outside that may be the outer face of a cashel wall. The site sits on a slight rise in an undulating landscape and appears as an enclosure only on the 1915 OS 6-inch map.
Marked as an enclosure only on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a slight rise in an undulating landscape. This is a circular grass-covered area (int. diam. 32.1m N-S; 29.9m E-W) defined by a drystone-wall (Wth 0.5-0.9m; max. H 1.3m) and hedge which is incorporated into the townland boundary with Corkip E-WSW and reduced to the base of the wall elsewhere. A berm (Wth 4-5m) bounded with large stones outside the wall SSE-WSW may be the outer face of a cashel wall that does not survive elsewhere. An original entrance cannot be identified.
