Carrowgarriff South holds a circular cashel twenty point five metres across, its collapsed drystone wall now buried beneath a modern field wall on a gentle rise of outcropping rock. A rectangular enclosure fifteen by twelve metres abuts the circle at the south, suggesting the site served more than a single domestic purpose. The stones have lost their shape but the boundary remains, marking a place where human hands shaped the land before memory faded.
On a gentle rise in an area of outcropping rock and grassland. Poorly preserved circular cashel (diam. 20.5m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall which is overlain by a modern field wall. A roughly rectangular enclosure (L 15m; Wth 12m), defined by a low drystone wall, abuts it at S. (McCaffrey 1952, 267, no. 25)
