Fairy fort in Cahergal is a broken stone ring on a Galway rise, large enough to hold four rooms and still standing after centuries of rain. The western houses survived while the eastern rooms vanished, suggesting people lived there long before the field wall buried the old edge. The fairies may have taken the rest, but more likely time and changing farms did it, leaving a circle wide enough to walk around and remember.

On a rise in undulating pastureland. A poorly preserved circular cashel (diam. 24.4m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall that is overlain by a later field wall from E through S to W. McCaffrey (1952, 219, no. 77) noted an entrance gap (Wth c. 2.4m) at N, and four internal enclosures (average dims. 8m x 6m), defined by earth and stone banks, which abutted the cashel wall-face at NE, SE and two at W.
