In level pastureland. Known locally as ‘Cave-Fort’ (Redington 1916a, 55) and classified by McCaffrey (1952, 150, no. 48) as a circular ‘Stone fort’ (diam. c. 43.3m) defined by a drystone wall with an entrance gap (Wth c. 1.5m) at N. No visible surface trace of the cashel wall survives but its outline is preserved in a later curving field wall. A Man-made underground passage (GA096-023001-) lies in the NE quadrant of the interior.
