Fairy fort in Caherbarnagh: 40m stone ring, collapsed wall, outer bank, NE entrance, possible hidden passage. People may have lived, hidden or worshipped there before becoming a fairy name. The field still holds the shape of a choice made centuries ago.

In pasture, on gentle N-facing slope. Circular area (diam. c. 40m) enclosed by collapsed stone wall (H 0.5m) and outer earthen bank (H c. 1.2m). Entrance (Wth 2.8m) to NE. Interior surface uneven; possible Man-made underground passage (8969) in NE quadrant. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
