What is recorded here

Caheradine in County Galway lost its stone ringfort to forgetting. The 1838 map still draws a thirty-metre circle, but McCaffrey found nothing and the field is called Gortnatober beside a dried-up well. The fort may have been broken up for walls or roads, or it may have never been more than a fairy story made visible on paper.

In pastureland. Marked on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m). When McCaffrey (952, 150, no. 73) carried out his survey he recorded that this monument was 'Not present'. No visible surface trace survives.
