Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Barefield OR Gortlumman

Fairy fort / stone ringfort

What is recorded here

Barefield and Gortlumman both claim the same stone ringfort, a boundary marked by wall rather than owner. The castle shape suggests human defense, but the fairy name warns that the stones may belong to another kind of tenant. People may have lived inside, feared inside or simply refused to enter. The fort still divides the fields, waiting for someone honest enough to ask which name is true.
