What is recorded here
Fairy forts are not forts at all. They are abandoned ringforts, small stone houses from before written memory. People stopped living there, forgot the doors, and invented fairies to explain why the rooms were empty. The fairies did not move in. They were the excuse invented because nobody remembered the humans who left.
