Fairy forts and ringforts are not the same. A ringfort is a human home, farm or refuge marked by a deliberate stone or earth wall. A fairy fort is folk memory: a forbidden circle, a fairy dance ground or a lost field fort. The survey description above is that of a ringfort, not a fairy fort.

In pasture, on W-facing slope. Monument, depicted as circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on OS 6-inch map, is no longer evident. Westropp (1916-17, 32) described it as 'a mere overgrown ring of small filling, 12 feet to 15 feet thick and a few feet high, with only a few facing blocks in situ, and early house enclosures inside.'
