Magic is not dead in Ireland, it is busy. That is why the fort at Ballylannidy is called a fairy fort, not a abandoned human one. The stones are still arranged, the gate is still pointed, and the field around it is still quiet in a way that suggests occupancy rather than emptiness. People stopped building there because the place stopped belonging to them.
