What is recorded here

No human memory reaches the fort, only the name and the shape remain. A cashel is a border drawn around the living world, and Ballyhomulta is where that border became a room. The claimant may have been a family, a herdsman or a child who refused to leave the field. The stones did not record the answer. They stopped belonging to anyone and became the shape of the claim itself.

In low undulating rough pasture within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-059001-). Not listed in the SMR (1992) or the RMP (1996). This barely traceable subcircular cashel (est. c. 50m N-S; c. 45m E-W) is defined by a vague grass-covered collapsed wall/bank. Another cashel (CL009-204002-) overlies the S quadrant. There is a road/trackway (CL009-204005-) c. 44m to W, an enclosure (CL009-155001-) c. 70m to NW, and a house of indeterminate date (CL009-204004-) c. 73m to W.
