Mother and child vanished into the hill, leaving behind a smooth stone ring that locals still call a fairy fort. The story claims human flesh transformed into rock rather than disappeared, which is either a warning about greed or a joke the land tells itself. Ballyhickey keeps the shape of that night, a circular scar where ordinary rules stopped applying.
