What is recorded here

Addergown holds a broad stone ring where human hands built a boundary the fairies still occupy. The fort stands thirty metres across in an open field, large enough for a household but shaped like a place that refuses to be owned. People may have lived inside its tall wall before the story changed, yet the name suggests the house emptied rather than fell. The stones still mark a room no one enters lightly.

Internal diameter 30.4m N-S, 35m E-W This univallate stone fort is situated in the corner of a pastoral field with fieldbanks running into the enclosing bank to the NW and SE. It consists of a sub-circular area enclosed by a well-defined bank and traces of an exterior fosse. The enclosing stone-lined bank is 6.4m wide; it rises to 2m-3.8m externally and to 1.2m-2.7m above the interior. The external fosse is evident from the NW through N to E to SE, where it is 2m wide and .6m below the surrounding land. The interior is at a slightly higher level than the surrounding land and access is gained by a 2.6m wide entrance to the E. The above description is derived from C.
