No visible fort remains in Tievebrack, though grass and soil still hide a twenty to twenty-five metre ring on a slight rise above good pasture. The land may have worn the stone away or people may have stopped remembering the shape because it stopped being useful. In either case the fort became a field, and the field became a story about a fort that vanished.

There is little trace of the single-ringed circular 'Fort' marked on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map. An indication in the growth would suggest a diameter of 20-25m. It was situated in gently rolling good pasture on a slight rise. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
