What is recorded here

No one knows when the first fence went up or who pulled it down, but the ground still holds the shape of a small defiant world. The field has swallowed the wall yet the crop marks the circle, the eastern gap, and the wandering lines of a forgotten neighbourhood. An ESB pole stands inside the ancient boundary like a modern intruder or a reluctant guardian. The fort does not need a name to remain occupied; it waits for someone to walk the gap and remember what the soil is still teaching.
Situated in centre of field containing cropmarks of several monuments (KD003-035-/036-/038-). Cropmark of circular shaped enclosure with entrance gap at E visible on aerial photograph taken 11/07/2018. ESB pole stands in NW quadrant of enclosure close to the enclosing cropmark. Curvilinear cropmark running off E side of ringfort may represent the remains of an annexe. Concentration of curvilinear cropmarks running off and across the annexe on N and S side may represent the remains of a field system (KD003-038----). Cropmark of smaller ringfort possible (KD003-036----) and ring-ditch (KD003-035----) to E. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien based on details kindly provided by Noel Murphy Date of upload: 2 August 2018
