Beanna fort, a 28-metre stone ring on Rathmichael Hill, still circles beneath a bungalow and gardens. That domestic invasion transforms the ancient boundary into a hidden foundation, forcing residents to build upon an unknown chamber. The fort does not disappear; it waits under rose beds and kitchen floors, challenging modern certainty with quiet patience.

The site is situated on the upper W slopes of Rathmichael Hill. It is shown as a hachured enclosure on the 1843 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps and marked as 'beanna fort' on a sketch map accompanying the OS Memoranda (O'Flanagan 1927, 16, 40). Described by Healy (1975, 1-19) as a ring feature (ext. diam. c. 28m) defined by a bank of stones with a level interior. A bungalow and gardens occupy the site.
