What is recorded here

Lisnamulligan is named for a missing fort, yet no fort remains visible. The name itself is the proof: someone built there, lived there, and left a mark deep enough to enter a place name. The land is good and open, the kind of ground people choose when they want to see far and be seen back. Whatever disappeared, it did not disappear cleanly. It gave up its shape and kept its address.

There is no sign of the 'Fort' marked on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map. It was situated on good land with wide views.
