Fairy fort in Liscappul, County Galway: an almost circular rath, 42m by 40m, with a bank and outside ditch, partly lost in undulating grassland. Its east-southeast gap, about 3m wide, may be the original entrance. The shape suggests a small defended or ceremonial place rather than a mere fairy tale, yet local names often turn human ingenuity into mystery.
