What is recorded here
Kilkea Lodge Farm holds a forgotten ringfort, its circular ditch still visible through rising crop growth. The site measures about twenty-six metres across, large enough for a household but small enough to hide beneath ordinary farmland. It may have been a home, a workshop or a place of refuge before people stopped naming it. The earth remembers the shape even when human memory has faded.
Aerial photograph (CUCAP BGN 41) shows a cropmark of circular enclosure defined by fosse (est max diam c. 26m). Probably a ringfort site.
