Fairy fort in Gortnamuck, County Donegal: no visible trace remains, though old survey and mapping treated it as a real ringfort on the ridge edge. That absence is the shape of the place now: a forgotten marker in excellent land, perhaps buried, removed or never more than a boundary imagined by people who needed the valley to have a name.

There is no trace of the circular 'Fort' marked on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map. It was set on the N edge of a ridge overlooking a shallow valley in excellent land with wide views.
