Half-buried at the western edge of a Galway ridge, the Corraneena ringfort keeps its shape through grass and rubble. Quarrying bit into the south bank and field clearance scattered the outer edge, yet the inner scarp and fosse still draw a shallow circle across the land. People may have lived inside that circle before the stones became a boundary for livestock or a marker for memory. The fort no longer needs explanation; it waits for someone to walk its rim and imagine the hands that shaped it.

Near W end of a ridge in undulating grassland. Poorly preserved subcircular rath (N-S 24.5m, E-W 22m) defined by an inner scarp, and from WSW to N by an intervening fosse and outer bank. Quarrying has encroached upon the enclosing elements at S and the outer bank is obscured by field-clearance rubble.
