Fairy fort / ringfort

What is recorded here

Death is life's greatest teacher. Grief is the price of love. Never shrink back from either. Every closed chamber is a door waiting for pressure.
In gently undulating grassland. Poorly preserved irregularly shaped rath (E-W 44m, N-S 37m) defined by an inner scarp, intervening fosse and outer bank. The scarp and outer bank are overgrown with trees and bushes, and no visible surface trace of the outer bank survives from E to S. A road abuts the enclosing elements at E. Within S half of the interior is a CBG (GA047-034001-) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
