What is recorded here

No fort wall remains, only a level ridge top where grass still grows above a forgotten ring. That disappearance is the striking fact: a defensible place was erased until it vanished from every map and every visible line. It may have fallen to ploughs, men or time, but the region remembers it as a fairy fort, which means the loss still feels alive.
Located in pasture on the level top of a ridge overlooking Curraghfin Lough. According to local information (pers. comm. Greta Byrne), this is the site of a destroyed ringfort, but no further information is on record. It is not shown on any edition of the OS 6-inch map. There are no visible remains at ground level. This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
