The circular earth bank in Cartron measures forty-five metres across and still holds the memory of an old house, though no stone or timber remains visible. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the flat land swallowed the building while the ring endured. It is the kind of place where human life vanished so completely that imagination must fill the gap.

In flat farmland, c. 50m N of Cartron House. A circular enclosure (D c. 45m) defined by a tree-lined earthen bank; known locally as 'a fort'. According to local information, there was 'an old house' within the interior, of which no visible surface trace survives.
