What is recorded here
That is the fairy fort at Carrownamona: a vanished ringfort in flat Galway pasture, large enough to hold a household or a herds, now reduced to a shallow semicircle and a field of grass.
In flat pastureland. Marked on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a subcircular enclosure (c. 38m E-W; c. 34m N-S). Apart from a slightly raised semicircular area (diam. c. 20m; H 0.5m), no visible surface trace survives.
