Fairy forts are often human ringforts misread by later tradition. In Breenagh, a broken earthen bank still stands beside good land above the River Swilly. That much is clear. Whether it was a farmhold, a boundary marker or a forgotten dwelling is no longer certain. The name fairy fort tells us more about the fear and wonder of later people than about the truth of the place.

A small portion of the W side of the enclosing bank of this feature survives to a height of 1.75m internally. The bank is earthen but contains some of stone. It is probably the remains of a destroyed ringfort. It is situated on the summit of a small E-W ridge above the River Swilly in good land.
