Fairy fort / ringfort in Ballygown

Fairy fort / ringfort

What is recorded here

Ballygown holds a ringfort, but local memory calls it a fairy fort, suggesting the stones belong to more than human history. The earthwork stands in County Kilkenny, waiting for people to decide whether they see a farmyard, a fortress or a threshold. That ambiguity is the point: the border between the known and hidden remains thin there.
