Fairy fort / ringfort in Ballaghymurry was an oval enclosure about 50 metres by 40 metres in rolling Galway grassland. It has no visible surface trace now, though it was marked on the first edition of the OS 6-inch map. The forgoes may have been a dwelling, a boundary marker or a place of seasonal gathering. Whatever it was, the land kept its shape long enough for surveyors to draw it before grass and time erased the rest.
