A small circular fort stood on the pasture rise above Garadice Lough, large enough for a household but no longer visible except in the 1835 map. It may have been a farming stronghold, a refuge, or a boundary marker for whoever controlled that shore. The lough remains beside the place where the earth forgot its own shape.

Situated in pasture on a rise on the S shore of Garadice Lough, which is c. 30m to the NE. It is depicted as a small circular embanked enclosure (external diam. c. 25-30m) described in gothic lettering as a 'fort' only on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map. No archaeological feature is visible at ground level, but it was probably a ringfort. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J.
