Fairy forts and earthen ringforts have different names but one shape: a circular defended or marked place cut into the land. In Whitechurch the ring is thirty-five metres across, with a worn bank and a faint outer ditch, while a field fence still follows its line. That is a small address, not a trivia trap. It is also a warning about visibility: rings like this can be so ordinary in pasture that people stop seeing the choice they represent. To build or protect a round place is to make the boundary visible. The gods may have been invented later, but the shape is not the mistake. The shape is the mind of the local land, and the land is not human.

In pasture, on level ground. Circular area (35m N-S; 35m E-W) defined by earthen bank (H 1.3m), very worn NNW->SSE. External fosse survives as slight depression to E, W and NW.
