Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Tullyvaragh Upper stands as a circular earthwork in County Monaghan, Ireland. Its overgrown banks and ditches mark a boundary where human hands shaped the land before memory faded. The site faces south toward Moylan Lough, inviting imagination about the lives that moved through its gap. What is certain is that the earth remains arranged in a circle, waiting for witness.

Located in a fold towards the bottom of a S-facing slope and c. 200m N of the NW angle of Moylan Lough. This is a circular overgrown area (diam. 41m NNW-SSE) that slopes down to the S. It is defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at NW: Wth 7.6m; int. H 1.1m; ext. H 1.1m) separated by a flat-bottomed fosse (at NW: Wth of top 7.6m; Wth of base 2.4m; ext. D 1m) from an outer bank (at NW: Wth of base 5.2m; ext. H 0.8m) and outer fosse (at NW: Wth of base 1.8m; ext. D 0.3m). The outer bank is incorporated in a field bank NE-SE, and an E-W road truncates all these features at S. A gap (Wth of base 2.2m) in the inner bank at SE is probably the original entrance. Rath (MO028-074----) is c. 60m to the S. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).
