Fairy fort in Tullyvaragh Lower is a circular grass-covered ringfort, 38.4m across, set on the south-facing slope of a drumlin ridge in County Monaghan. Its earthen bank still stands a metre high at the north edge, though the south side has nearly vanished into the steep descent. The ridge was once planted in trees, hiding the fort from view, and the bank now merges into a field hedge on one side. There is no visible entrance, as if the circle closed itself after losing its keeper.

Situated towards the top of the S-facing slope of the spine of a N-S drumlin ridge. This ridge and the monument were once planted in trees. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 38.4m NNE-SSW; 34.4m WNW-ESE) that slopes down steeply to the S. It is defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5m; int. H 0.1m at S to 1m at N; ext. H 1m at N and S) which is incorporated into a field bank and hedge ENE-SW , and an outer fosse (at NNE: Wth of top 6.4m; Wth of base 2.8m; D 1m) SW-N-E.
