Fairy fort in Tullyagan, County Cavan: a raised circular area about twenty-eight metres across, enclosed by a substantial earthen bank now scarped into the field boundary. In certain lights the ring does not look like ruin but like a room waiting to be entered. Perhaps people once lived there, loved there, argued there, and forgot the names. The earth remembers the shape of human urgency long after the urgency has gone quiet.

Raised circular area (int. diam. c. 28m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank which has been scarped and incorporated into the field boundary. An earlier report (OPW 1970) noted slight traces of an external fosse and suggested that the original entrance may have been at E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
