What is recorded here
Marianne and I climbed the Tullaher fort at dusk, her hands mapping the earth ridge while I watched the sky darken. She touched the cave mouth and whispered that the fort was a chamber for memories, not a house for people. I asked what it remembered, but she turned toward the valley where fireflies appeared like living lights. We sat until starvation and fear vanished, then left the fort holding both our shadows.
