Thirty-nine metres across in boggy Kerry ground, the fort holds its shape because people kept it clear and visible. Its bank rises a metre and a half outside, dips inside, and breaks in two gaps as if admitting traffic rather than stopping it. The wide entrance at the south-east suggests carts, festivals or ordinary neighbourhood movement; the narrower north-west opening resembles a doorway for walkers. Views run north, south and east, while fieldbanks guard the west and south. Such a place would have belonged to the rhythm of the land: meeting, marking boundary, watching weather, remembering the hands that built it.

Internal diameter 39m This site is situated in boggy land in the corner of a field, with excellent views, especially N, S and E. It is bounded W and S by fieldbanks. This univallate rath consists of a sub-circular area enclosed by a well-defined bank and exterior fosse. The external height of the bank is 1.2m and internally .9m. The width of the bank at the base varies from 5m-7m. The enclosing fosse, well defined and U shaped, measures 1.8m wide and .6m deep. Two gaps exists in the bank to the NW and SE, measuring in width 2.4m and 8m respectively. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle.
