What is recorded here
No visible earthwork survives, yet the boundary is still drawn on both maps. The Tyshe river runs beside the vanished circle, carrying the shape of the place forward even when the soil stopped showing it.
The Tyshe river runs to the N of this circular enclosure in a E-W direction. This site is marked on the 1841-42 and 1898 OS maps, but no surface trace survives today.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 788. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
