What is recorded here

Toughmacdermody holds a thirty-metre earthen ring on an east-facing slope, watching two loughs while a narrow laneway skirts its northern edge. The bank rises one and a half metres, breaks into a southeast gap, and drops into a shallow western ditch, shaping a small defensible room above the water. People may have kept livestock, hidden during storms, or marked local ownership there before written memory. The loughs still reflect the sky, but the ring remains the clearer witness to human patience and ambition.

In pasture, on E-facing slope overlooking Toughmacdermody Lough and Lough Patrick. Circular area (29.7m N-S; 30.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.5m); partially levelled N->S; external fosse (D 0.3m) evident SW->NW. Laneway skirts outside of bank N->SE.
