West Cork, Ireland. The site of a church is no longer visible but the graveyard beside the C of I church still marks where people gathered, buried their dead and kept a local faith alive. In 1615 the church was in repair, suggesting it remained useful and worth maintaining long after its founding. The loss of its walls does not erase the life that formed around them.

Indicated on OS 6-inch map (1842) in graveyard (CO120-039001-) as 'site of church' to S of C of I church (CO120-039002-). In repair 1615 (Brady 1863, vol. 1, 81); no surface remains. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
