Tomdeely South holds a broken ring where brambles strangle the earth bank and obscure the door. The fort is small enough to walk across in a minute, yet it keeps its shape against pasture and forgetting. A person may have stood inside at dawn, listening for movement in the briars before entering the quiet dark.

In level pasture. Roughly circular area (31.2m N-S; 33.6m E-W) enclose by earth-and-stone bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.8m), overgrown with brambles and briars. Break in bank at ENE (Wth 2m). Interior level and in rough pasture. Some field clearance material has been dumped in SE quadrant.
