Fairy forts are earthen ringforts that people stopped using but never forgot. In Tomdeely North the circle is twenty-nine metres across, with a scarped edge, external fosse and counterscarp bank. Trees and overgrowth have taken the interior back, and the surrounding bank fades from southeast to southwest. The shape still reads as a room built for someone, even if the person is no longer named.

On low rise, in gently undulating pasture. Circular area (29m E-W) defined by scarped edge (H 0.55m; Wth 2m) with external fosse (Wth 3m) and counterscarp bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.85m). Enclosing element overgrown by trees but interior is covered by impenetrable overgrowth. Enclosing element very indistinct SE->SW. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
