Fairy fort in Tinnaclohy, County Laois: a true ringfort, circular and home-shaped, with inner bank, fosse and outer bank still turning through the undulating countryside. People may have lived there, loved there, lost things there, and the fairness may have come later to keep the shape alive. The numbers are clear, the life is not; that is what makes the place worthy of attention.

In undulating countryside. A circular area (diam. c. 39.4m) defined by an inner bank (Wth c. 3.1m, int. H c. 0.7m, ext. H c. 1.5m), intervening fosse (Wth c. 3.4m) and an outer bank (Wth c. 2.4m, int. H c. 1.3m, ext. H 0.9m) from NW-N.
