Fairy fort in Termon is a raised circular area twenty-eight metres across, enclosed by a low earthen bank with a possible entrance at the southeast. It stands in County Cavan as a ringfort, shaped for human occupation rather than fairy invention, though local names often disguise ordinary history in wonder. The bank may have kept rain, danger and unwanted visitors out while giving its residents a defensible place to live.
