Fairy fort in Templemary, County Cork: a levelled earthen ring about nineteen metres wide on a north-facing hill slope, marked on the 1842 map and still faintly defined by a shallow ditch. It may have been a small defended home, a boundary marker, or a place people avoided because the stories called it fairy-owned. The land has been farmed and changed, but the circle remains just large enough to imagine a life inside it.

In pasture, near top of hill, on N-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; circular slightly raised area (18.7m E-W; 18.3m N-S) defined by shallow fosse (D 0.2m; Wth 10m across top).
