What is recorded here

Fairy forts are often lost when hungry cows or greedy ploughs take them, but Srath Na Bratóige kept its ring above the River Finn. It stands as a earthen mark in good land, waiting for someone strong enough to carry a camera close or brave enough to walk the grass without falling in. Distance shows more than ownership ever could.

It did not prove possible to inspect at close quarters the single-ringed 'Fort' marked on the OS 6-inch maps. Although we were informed that the site was gone, there appeared to be some traces visible when viewed from a distance. The site is on a terrace just above the flood plain of the River Finn in fairly good land and appeared to be of earthen construction.
