Fairy fort in Sliss, County Kerry: a circular earthen ringfort, 41m by 39m, with a 6m wide bank and a narrow eastern gap. It is the kind of place where people may have lived, hidden, herded animals or simply marked territory before written records. The name adds a warning or a joke, reminding us that human ownership and fairy ownership have never been easy to separate.

Internal diameter 41m N-S, 39m E-W This roughly circular univallate rath consists of an inner area enclosed by an earthen bank. The bank survives to a height of between .8m to 2.6m externally and .7m internally. The width of the bank at the base measures c6m. A 1.4m wide gap to the E provides access to the interior.
