Fairy forts are earthen ringforts people stopped calling homes, not proven fairy dwellings. In Skehanagh the bank still marks an oval on an east-facing slope, partly levelled but still higher along the south-east arc. A family may have lived there, lost the name, and left behind a shape the land still repeats.

In pasture, on gentle E-facing slope. Oval area (34m N-S; 38m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.15m; ext. H 0.3m), with external fosse (Wth 2m; D 0.2m) NW->NE. Bank is highest ESE->SW, but is almost completely levelled NW->E. Externally bank is highest along SE arc (H 0.45m) and lowest (H 0.25m) at SW. Interior, under pasture, slopes gently down to E.
