No human ever saw the fort build itself, yet the soil remembers the shape of hands that never bled. The ring stands thirty-three metres wide on its hillock, scarped and fierce, while briars strangle the western half like a secret kept from men. What was made there is no longer spoken, only lived in the tilt of the ground and the patience of the grass.

In pasture, atop hillock. Circular area (diam. 33.5m) defined by scarped edge, with external fosse (Wth 1.8m; D 0.1m) WNW->NNE. Scarp (H 2m; Wth 3m), best preserved at SE, lowers at SW (H 0.6m; Wth 1.45m). Counterscarp bank (ext. H 0.4m) at NNW. Interior, covered with briars over W half and along verges but otherwise under rough pasture, slopes down gently to SE. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
